This is one of the shortest transfers from Sarajevo International Airport, because the airport itself sits within the Ilidža municipality. The route leaves the terminal along Kurta Schorka and connects to Butmirska cesta, heading north on flat, built-up ground with no hills or winding sections. Most hotels and the spa complex are reached in well under fifteen minutes in normal traffic. You will pass residential streets, small shops and the approach to the tram terminus rather than open countryside. The only likely delay is the level crossing and the junctions near the tram loop during weekday rush hour. Because the distance is so small, drivers can usually take you right to the hotel entrance or a specific address along the Velika Aleja.

Because the ride is so brief, book a fixed transfer rather than waiting for a taxi meter to barely start; a pre-arranged car avoids negotiating over such a short distance. Give your driver the exact hotel name, since Ilidža has several large properties spread along Butmirska cesta and near the tram loop, and street numbers can be confusing. If you plan to visit Vrelo Bosne, note that private cars cannot drive the full Velika Aleja — you finish on foot or by carriage from the park entrance. The tram from Ilidža terminus to Baščaršija takes roughly half an hour and needs a paper ticket validated on board, so carry small change. For late arrivals, confirm your transfer in advance, as taxi availability at the airport thins out at night.
