This is a long-distance transfer of roughly 395 km, so expect close to four hours on the road, almost entirely on motorway. From Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport the route joins the A-7 heading east, passing the outskirts of Vélez-Málaga and then the coastal stretch through Motril and along the Granada and Almería provinces. Past Almería the road turns inland and drier, crossing towards Lorca and Totana before reaching Murcia. From there you take the RM-19 corridor down towards San Javier and Los Alcázares, with the final few kilometres running flat beside the Mar Menor. Most of the journey is straightforward dual carriageway; the terrain shifts from green coast to arid interior and back to the lagoon plain. It's worth planning a comfort stop around Almería.

Because Los Narejos sits far closer to Región de Murcia International Airport (Corvera) and to Alicante-Elche than to Málaga, only book the Málaga run if that's genuinely your arrival point — the four-hour drive is worth confirming against flight options. Give the driver your exact address or resort: Los Narejos, Roda Golf and the various urbanisations around Los Alcázares have several separate entrances and gated complexes, and a block or street name saves time on arrival. Travelling with children? The shallow beach means you'll want beach gear packed accessibly. For daytime departures, aim to leave early to avoid Murcia and coastal-belt traffic. Bring water and snacks for the leg through Almería, where services thin out, and confirm whether your accommodation has parking access for drop-off close to the door.
