Private transfer from Zaragoza Airport to Jaca
Door-to-door transfer from Zaragoza Airport to Jaca with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.
Why people travel to Jaca
Jaca sits in the Jacetania valley in the Aragonese Pyrenees, and most visitors use it as a base for the ski resorts of Astún and Candanchú, both about half an hour further up the N-330 toward the Somport pass. In winter the town fills with skiers; in summer hikers and cyclists take over the same routes. In town, the star-shaped Ciudadela de Jaca (a 16th-century fortress with deer in its moat), the Romanesque Catedral de San Pedro and the shops and bars along Calle Mayor are the main draws. Jaca is also a key stop on the Camino Aragonés, so pilgrims pass through year-round. The nearby Monasterio de San Juan de la Peña and the Canfranc railway station make good half-day trips.
The drive north through Huesca
The route leaves Zaragoza Airport and joins the A-23 motorway, which runs north across the flat Ebro plain past Zuera and on to Huesca. This first stretch is fast, dual-carriageway driving. After Huesca the road continues north and gradually climbs into the foothills, following the valley toward the Pyrenees. The final section runs through Puente la Reina de Jaca, where the road meets the Río Aragón, and the terrain becomes clearly mountainous. There are no hairpins on this approach — it's a steady climb rather than a twisting one — but the scenery shifts from cereal fields to pine slopes. Expect around an hour and three-quarters door to door in normal conditions, longer on winter weekends when ski traffic builds up on the last section toward town.
Practical tips for this transfer
If your final destination is Astún or Candanchú rather than Jaca itself, say so when booking: the resorts are 25–30 minutes beyond the town up the N-330, and it's better to be dropped at your accommodation than left in Jaca with ski gear. In winter, carry chains or expect the driver to have them, as the Somport road can be snowy above Canfranc. Jaca's old town around the cathedral has narrow, partly pedestrian streets, so confirm a nearby drop-off point rather than an exact doorstep. Zaragoza Airport has limited flight frequency, so coordinate your arrival time carefully. For groups heading to the slopes with skis and boots, mention luggage volume in advance so an appropriately sized vehicle is assigned.
