Private transfer from Zadar Airport to Trogir
Door-to-door transfer from Zadar Airport to Trogir with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.
What Trogir is known for
Trogir's old town sits on a small island between the mainland and Čiovo, linked by short bridges and closed to most traffic. Its core is UNESCO-listed: the Cathedral of St Lawrence with Radovan's carved portal, the Kamerlengo Fortress on the western tip, and the waterfront Riva lined with cafés and moored yachts. ACI Marina Trogir, across the channel on Čiovo, draws sailors picking up or dropping off charter boats. Families head to Okrug Gornji and the long Copacabana-style beach on Čiovo, plus Pantan lagoon just east of town. Most visitors come between May and September; the stone streets are busiest at midday when day-trippers arrive from Split, and quieter in the early evening.
The drive down the A1 motorway
The route leaves the Zadar Airport area near Zemunik and joins the A1 motorway heading southeast toward Split. This is the fast part: a modern toll road running mostly inland, passing tunnels and long viaducts above the Krka and around the Šibenik hinterland. You leave the A1 at the Prgomet/Vrpolje exit and drop down through low, rocky hills toward the coast and Kaštela bay. The final stretch is slower, on regional roads that thread past Split Airport at Resnik before reaching Trogir. Expect around 90 minutes in normal conditions. The last approach into the old town is tight — vehicles cannot cross onto the island itself, so drop-offs happen on the mainland side or near the Čiovo bridge.
Practical tips for this transfer
Note that Trogir is far closer to Split Airport (Resnik), which sits just a few kilometres away, than to Zadar Airport. Choose a Zadar pickup only if your flight lands there — otherwise the road time roughly doubles. Tell your driver whether your accommodation is in the old town, on Čiovo, or in Okrug Gornji, because access differs: the island itself is pedestrian, so you may finish the last minutes on foot with luggage over the bridge. If you're heading to ACI Marina to board a charter, confirm the gate and check-in time, as Saturday turnaround days are heavy with traffic. For late arrivals, the A1 has service areas near Šibenik if you need a stop, and the motorway is well lit and reliable at night.
