Private transfer from Zadar Airport to Cavtat
Door-to-door transfer from Zadar Airport to Cavtat with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.
What Cavtat is known for
Cavtat sits on a wooded double-bay peninsula in the Konavle region, about 20 km south of Dubrovnik and very close to Dubrovnik Airport at Čilipi. Its palm-lined waterfront curves around the harbour, with the Rat peninsula walk leading past cypress trees to the Račić family mausoleum, designed by sculptor Ivan Meštrović. The town was the birthplace of painter Vlaho Bukovac, whose house is now a museum, and the Baltazar Bogišić collection sits by the Franciscan monastery. Swimmers use Rat beach and the concrete platforms below the pine woods. Visitors are mostly couples and families who want a quieter base than Dubrovnik's old town, plus day-trippers who take the small ferry across to the city. It is busiest from June to September.
The drive south from Zadar Airport
This is a long, mostly motorway journey covering the length of the Dalmatian coast. From Zadar Airport at Zemunik the driver joins the A1, which runs inland past Šibenik and Split before descending toward Ploče. From there the route follows the coastal D8 and crosses the Pelješac Bridge, opened in 2022, which lets you bypass the Neum corridor and its border checks entirely. After the bridge the road hugs the sea past Ston and Dubrovnik before the final turn down to Cavtat. Expect roughly four and a half hours without stops. The A1 section is fast and smooth; the last stretch beyond Dubrovnik is more winding, and the approach into Cavtat drops down toward the harbour on narrow streets where larger vehicles move slowly.
Planning this specific transfer
Because the distance is close to 400 km, treat this as a half-day trip and build in one comfort stop; the service areas around Split or before the Pelješac Bridge work well. If your flight lands at Dubrovnik Airport instead, that is only about 10 minutes from Cavtat, so double-check which airport your booking uses before travelling. Cavtat's old core is largely pedestrian, so drivers usually set down at the car park above the harbour or at your hotel's designated point rather than on the waterfront itself. Tell your driver the exact hotel name, as several properties sit along the two bays with separate access roads. For a morning arrival in Cavtat, an early departure from Zadar avoids the heaviest summer traffic through the Split ring road.
