Private transfer from Zadar Airport to Betina Murter

Betina sits on the northeast side of Murter island, next to the town of Murter and above the channel from Tisno. It's a working village built around wooden boatbuilding, and the Betina Museum of Wooden Shipbuilding documents the local gajeta tradition. The stone core rises behind a small harbour, with Marina Betina below holding several hundred berths. Most visitors are sailors provisioning for the Kornati archipelago, and families renting apartments in summer who use the gravel and pebble coves and the shallow water off nearby Murter town and Plava Plaža. It's quieter than the party crowd at neighbouring Tisno, where the riverside festivals run in July and August. Off-season it empties out to residents and boat owners.

From Zadar Airport at Zemunik the route heads southeast, typically joining the A1 motorway toward Šibenik and leaving near Pirovac, then dropping onto the coastal D8 (Adriatic Highway) for the run down to Tisno. The last stretch is the memorable part: Murter island is linked to the mainland only by a small drawbridge at Tisno, which opens on a schedule for boat traffic and can hold cars for a few minutes. Once across, a short island road runs past Tisno and Jezera before reaching Betina and Murter town. Expect roughly an hour door to door, more in peak summer when the bridge and the single island road back up with holiday traffic on changeover Saturdays.

Time your arrival with the Tisno bridge in mind: it closes to cars during scheduled openings, so a ferry-style wait is normal, not a detour. If your accommodation is in Betina's old upper streets, tell the driver in advance — the lanes above the harbour are narrow and stepped, and the practical drop-off is often at the marina or a car park below rather than the door. Provisioning matters if you're heading straight onto a charter boat: the larger supermarkets are in Murter town, a couple of minutes on. For the Kornati islands, boats leave from Murter's harbour, so factor a short onward hop. Bring cash for the smaller village konobas, and note that summer parking near the waterfront is tight.
