La Cala de Finestrat is a small cove wedged between Benidorm's Poniente beach and the Sierra Helada headland, part of Finestrat municipality rather than the old hilltop village inland below Puig Campana. The beach is a compact strip of coarse sand and pebbles, sheltered and calmer than Benidorm's long beaches, so families with young children and older visitors tend to choose it. Behind the sand runs a promenade lined with seafood restaurants and low apartment blocks. Most visitors stay in the Cala apartments or walk over from Poniente. Summer is busiest; spring and autumn suit walkers heading up towards the Puig Campana ridge. It's quieter and more residential than central Benidorm, a short taxi or walk from the Rincón de Loix nightlife but a world away in atmosphere.

The route runs almost entirely on motorway. From Valencia Airport at Manises you loop onto the ring roads and pick up the A-7/AP-7 southbound, following the coast past Cullera, Gandia and Dénia. The terrain is flat farmland and low hills for most of the way, with the sea appearing intermittently on the left. Roughly 140 kilometres and around an hour and three-quarters in normal traffic. The change comes near the end: you leave the motorway at the Benidorm/Finestrat exits, drop down through the Cala Finestrat commercial area, then take a short, winding descent to the seafront. The final stretch through the resort has several apartment-block entrances that look similar, so the last few hundred metres are slower than the open road behind you.

Give your driver the exact apartment complex name and block, not just "Cala de Finestrat" — the seafront and the commercial zone up the hill share the name, and the apartment towers behind the beach look alike. If you're staying in one of the higher developments like the ones near Villaitana golf, mention it, because the access roads branch off before you reach the sand. The promenade itself is partly pedestrian, so drop-offs happen at the road above; expect a short walk with luggage. Arriving in July or August, the descent road and beachfront parking clog up in the late afternoon, so a morning or evening arrival is smoother. Stock up on supplies before you arrive if it's a Sunday, as the smaller Cala shops keep limited hours off-season.
