The Asilah exit brings you onto local roads into town; the final approach passes newer apartment blocks before reaching the medina and seafront. Because the old town is pedestrianised and its streets are too narrow for cars, drivers drop off at the edge of the walls or at your riad's nearest accessible point.

Give your driver the name of your riad and the nearest gate (Bab Homar or Bab el Kasaba are common reference points), since GPS struggles inside the walls and you'll likely walk the last stretch with luggage over cobbles — pack accordingly. If you're arriving in July or August, ask about the festival: streets get busy and some vehicle access is restricted. Many travellers use this transfer as one leg of a coastal trip continuing to Larache or the Roman ruins at Lixus further south, so it's worth arranging the onward or return leg in advance.
