Split Airport sits at Resnik near Trogir, on the coast west of Split. The route climbs inland to join the A1 motorway and runs northwest through open karst countryside — rocky, sparsely built hills rather than sea views for most of the way. You leave the motorway at the Pirovac interchange and drop down toward the coast on the D59, meeting the old Adriatic highway (D8) that runs along the bay. The last stretch into town narrows as it passes the seafront and older streets. The whole trip is roughly 55 kilometres and usually takes around 50 minutes with light traffic. Expect that time to stretch on summer weekends, when the D8 through Vodice and the Murter turnoff backs up with beach and campsite traffic.

Give your driver the exact street or campsite name — Pirovac's waterfront lanes near the old town are narrow and often closed to cars, so drop-offs sometimes happen at a car park a short walk from the door. If you're staying at Camp Miran or one of the seafront apartments, note the approach road, as the old town section is easy to miss. Summer traffic on the D8 coastal road is the main variable; an early or late transfer avoids the worst of it. There's no train and limited direct bus service, so a private car is the simplest option straight from the terminal.
