Private transfer from Split Airport to Orebic
Door-to-door transfer from Split Airport to Orebic with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.
What Orebic is known for
Orebic sits on the southern edge of the Pelješac peninsula, directly across a narrow channel from the town of Korčula. It was a wealthy sea-captains' town, and the tall stone houses with gardens along the waterfront date from that era. Most visitors come for Trstenica beach, a long shingle-and-sand stretch east of the centre, and for the ferry that crosses to Korčula in about 15 minutes. Behind the town rises Mount Sveti Ilija (961 m), a serious hiking target with a marked trail from the Franciscan monastery above the coast. It draws families and windsurfers in July and August, when the Maestral wind is reliable, and quieter walkers in spring and autumn.
The drive from Split Airport across the Pelješac Bridge
The airport is at Kaštela, west of Split, so the route runs south past the city and down the Makarska coast on the D8 Adriatic road, with the sea on one side and the Biokovo massif on the other. Past Ploče the road turns onto the Pelješac peninsula. Since 2022 the Pelješac Bridge carries traffic straight across the bay, so you no longer pass through the Neum corridor in Bosnia and there are no passport checks. The final stretch along the peninsula's spine is winding and climbs over ridges before dropping to Orebic on the far end. Expect roughly three to three and a half hours; the last hour is the slowest, on two-lane roads with vineyards and coastal bends.
Practical tips for the Orebic transfer
If your final destination is Korčula town, the transfer takes you to the Orebic ferry ramp; the car-and-passenger ferry and a faster foot-passenger boat both run from here, so confirm which one you need before booking accommodation on the island. Timings thin out in the evening and in winter, so an afternoon flight can mean a wait at the ramp. Orebic itself has few large hotels; much of the lodging is apartments and villas spread along the waterfront and up the hillside, where lanes are narrow and steep — tell the driver the exact address rather than just the resort name. Stock up on cash and groceries in Split or at Ploče, as options thin out along the peninsula. The Pelješac vineyards near Potomje are worth a stop if you have time.
