Tucepi sits on the Makarska Riviera between Makarska and Podgora, pressed against the base of the Biokovo massif. Its main draw is one of the longest pebble beaches on this stretch of coast, backed by a shaded seafront promenade lined with pines and olive trees. The resort hotels (Bluesun properties among them) cluster along the shore, while the older stone hamlet of Gornje Tucepi climbs the hillside above, with the small church of St. Roko and Kaštelac. Families and couples come mainly from June to September for swimming and the promenade walk toward Makarska; hikers use Tucepi as a base for Biokovo Nature Park. It is quieter and more residential than Makarska town, which is a short drive north.

Split Airport is at Kaštela, so the driver first works through the Kaštela/Split fringe before joining the fast road south. Most drivers take the A1 motorway inland, then descend to the coast through the Sveti Ilija tunnel near Makarska; from there it is the D8 Adriatic Highway south to Tucepi. The alternative is the full coastal D8 through Omiš, Brela and Baška Voda, slower but with the sea on one side and the Biokovo cliffs on the other. Expect roughly 90 to 100 minutes. The final approach into Tucepi leaves the main road for narrower streets that drop toward the seafront, and the resort spreads along the shore, so tell the driver the exact hotel name — several entrances serve the same beach strip.

On summer weekends the coastal D8 through Omiš and Brela clogs badly in both directions, so a mid-morning or early-afternoon arrival can add real time; a pre-booked private car lets the driver pick the motorway route when the coast is jammed. If your accommodation is up in Gornje Tucepi rather than on the seafront, confirm this when booking, as the hillside lanes are steep and tight and not all vehicles will attempt them. Bring something for the pebble beach — water shoes are genuinely useful here. For Biokovo Nature Park and its glass Skywalk, arrange onward transport in advance, as taxis are scarce in Tucepi itself. Larger groups with beach gear should mention luggage volume so the right vehicle is sent.
