Korcula Town sits on a small peninsula ringed by medieval walls, with a herringbone street plan built to break the wind. From Split Airport near Kastela, the route follows the Adriatic coast road south past Omis, Makarska and the Biokovo mountain backdrop, then crosses onto the Peljesac peninsula. Since the Peljesac bridge opened, the drive avoids the old Bosnian border crossing at Neum entirely. The last stretch to Orebic is winding, hugging the shore with the island visible across the channel. From Orebic a frequent car ferry crosses to Domince, a few kilometres from Korcula Town. Road driving runs around two and a half to three hours before the ferry, which itself takes roughly 15 minutes on the passenger route or a bit longer for vehicles.

Time your arrival around ferry departures: the Orebic crossings run often in summer but thin out in the evening and off-season, so a late flight can mean a wait at the dock. Confirm whether your transfer ends at Domince/Vela Luka port or continues into Korcula Town, as the old town's stepped, car-free lanes mean vehicles stop at the edge and you walk the final few minutes with luggage. If your accommodation is in Lumbarda or Vela Luka, mention it in advance so the driver plans the island leg. Bring water and a light layer for the open ferry deck, and note that the Jadrolinija catamaran from Split's main port is a separate passenger-only option some travellers prefer over the full road-and-ferry route.
