Private transfer from Split Airport to Cavtat
Door-to-door transfer from Split Airport to Cavtat with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.
What Cavtat is and who goes there
Cavtat sits at the southern end of Croatia's coast, in the Konavle region just below Dubrovnik and about 5 km from Dubrovnik Airport at Čilipi. It's built across two wooded peninsulas around a sheltered bay, with a stone waterfront promenade lined with restaurants and a small marina where water taxis leave for Dubrovnik's old town. Visitors come for a quieter base than Dubrovnik: families use Rat and Žal beaches, and walkers follow the shaded path around the Rat peninsula. On the hill above town is the Račić family mausoleum by Ivan Meštrović, and the house of painter Vlaho Bukovac is open as a museum. Most guests arrive in the May-to-September season and use Cavtat for day trips into the Konavle valley.
The drive south from Split Airport
This is a long journey — roughly 235 km — so expect around three to three and a half hours. From Split Airport at Kaštela you join the A1 motorway and run inland through karst terrain past Makarska and towards Ploče. The route then follows the coastal road and crosses the Pelješac Bridge, which since 2022 lets you bypass the old Neum border corridor through Bosnia entirely, so there are no passport checks to slow you down. After the bridge the road rejoins the mainland near Ston and continues along the coast past Dubrovnik. The final stretch to Cavtat leaves the main road and descends toward the bay on a shorter local road. It's a scenic but demanding drive, mostly motorway and fast coastal highway rather than winding mountain passes.
Practical advice for this specific transfer
Because the drive is so long, decide first whether Split Airport is really your best entry point: Dubrovnik Airport is only about 5 km from Cavtat, so a Split transfer usually makes sense only when your flight lands at Split or when you're touring the coast. Plan one comfort stop — the service areas near Makarska or before the Pelješac Bridge are the practical choices. Carry your passport even though the Pelješac route avoids Bosnia, in case of any diversion. Cavtat's old-town waterfront is largely pedestrian, so your driver will drop you at the edge of the promenade or at your accommodation's nearest access point rather than at the door if you're staying right on the bay. For summer arrivals, allow extra time for coastal traffic around Dubrovnik.
