Private transfer from Split Airport to Betina Murter

Betina is a small stone village on the north side of Murter island, next to the larger town of Murter and above the Kosirina bay campsite. It is best known for traditional wooden boatbuilding, and the Betina Museum of Wooden Shipbuilding documents the local gajeta craft. The waterfront has a working marina and narrow lanes that climb from the harbour to the church of St Francis. Most visitors use Murter island as the closest base for the Kornati archipelago, boarding excursion boats from Betina or Murter town. Families come in July and August for the shallow coves and the pine-shaded Kosirina beach; the nearby village of Jezera and the festival site at Tisno draw a younger summer crowd. Outside high season Betina is quiet and largely residential.

Split Airport sits at Kaštela, on the coast between Split and Trogir, so you are already on the right side of the city and avoid its traffic. The route runs south-east, joining the A1 motorway or the coastal D8 toward Šibenik, then turns off through Pirovac and Vodice country toward Tisno. The final stretch is the memorable part: Murter island is joined to the mainland by a small drawbridge at Tisno, which opens on a fixed schedule to let boats through. From the bridge you continue through Tisno and past Murter town before dropping into Betina. Expect roughly an hour to an hour and a quarter of mostly easy driving, with a slower, narrower final approach along the island road and into the village lanes near the harbour.

The Tisno drawbridge is the one thing that can delay this transfer. It opens several times a day for a set period, and while it is raised all road traffic onto and off the island stops. In peak summer this coincides with heavy resort traffic through Tisno, so allow flexibility on outbound airport pickups and, if you have an early flight, ask your driver to build in buffer time. Betina's old core near the harbour is tight and partly restricted, so a driver may set you down at the nearest accessible point rather than the exact door; note your accommodation's cross street and any steps in advance. If you plan a Kornati boat trip, book it in Betina or Murter town, not from the mainland, to save a second crossing.
