This Trogir is a small rural settlement in the southern part of Republika Srpska, in the Herzegovina region of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It should not be confused with the coastal Croatian town of the same name — there are no beaches, marina or old-town squares here. Instead you find a scattered village landscape of stone houses, karst hills, grazing land and vineyards typical of inland Herzegovina. Most people arriving are visiting family, returning residents, or travellers heading deeper into the Trebinje area, known for the Trebišnjica river valley, Orthodox monasteries and small wineries. Summer brings the driest, warmest weather; winters can be cold and windy in the uplands. It is a quiet destination reached mainly by road rather than a tourist hub in its own right.

The route leaves Sarajevo International Airport and heads south through the Republika Srpska interior, following the main road corridor towards Foča and on into Herzegovina. This is not a motorway journey — expect a long, mostly two-lane road that climbs and descends through forested mountains, river gorges and open karst plateaus. There are long, winding sections, occasional slow-moving trucks, and stretches with limited overtaking, so the drive takes considerably longer than the distance alone suggests, typically around three to three and a half hours. Scenery is the main reward: the Drina and Sutjeska areas, high passes and stone villages. Mobile signal drops in some valleys. Because Trogir is a dispersed rural settlement, share a precise pin or the name of the nearest larger place (for example the relevant municipality or the closest town such as Trebinje) rather than just "Trogir", so the driver reaches the correct house. Final approach roads may be narrow, unpaved or unlit, so daytime arrival is easier for a first visit. Bring cash in convertible marks (KM) for anything you need en route, as card acceptance is limited outside towns and there are few ATMs in the villages.
