Winters can bring snow to the higher slopes, so anyone staying here between December and March should plan for cold mornings and occasional icy side lanes off the main road.

The airport sits in Ilidža, on the southwestern edge of Sarajevo, while Krivoglavci lies to the north, so the route crosses from one side of the urban area to the other. Drivers typically use the Sarajevo bypass to skirt the busiest central streets before heading up the valley toward Vogošća on the main road that follows the Bosna river. The terrain is flat along the valley floor, then rises gently onto the hillside lanes where Krivoglavci's houses stand. Expect around 20 kilometres and roughly half an hour in normal conditions. The final approach narrows as you leave the main valley road for local residential streets, which can be steep and tight in places. Timing depends heavily on Sarajevo's rush-hour traffic through Ilidža and the ring road.

Because Krivoglavci is residential and its lanes are not always well signed, give your driver a precise house address or a pinned map location rather than just the settlement name — the hillside streets branch off quickly and look similar. If you arrive between December and March, mention it when booking so a vehicle suited to cold, occasionally icy side roads can be assigned. There are limited taxis waiting locally, so a pre-booked return to the airport is worth arranging in advance, allowing extra time for Ilidža's morning congestion. For shopping and eating you will generally head into Vogošća town centre, a short ride away, since options within Krivoglavci itself are modest.
