Hrasnica is a residential settlement in the Ilidža municipality, sitting at the foot of Mount Igman on the southwestern edge of the Sarajevo valley. It's mostly apartment blocks and family homes rather than a tourist centre, so the people arriving are usually residents, relatives visiting family, or hikers and skiers using it as a base for Igman. The mountain road above the town climbs towards Veliko Polje, one of the 1984 Winter Olympic cross-country and ski-jump sites, and the trailheads for Igman start close by. In winter, Igman and the neighbouring Bjelašnica draw skiers; in summer the same slopes are popular for walking and cycling. The Tunnel of Hope museum in nearby Donji Kotorac is a short hop away.

This is one of the shortest transfers from Sarajevo International Airport. The airport sits in Butmir, and Hrasnica is just to the southwest, so the drive is only a few kilometres and normally takes around ten minutes. You leave the airport area, pass through the flat outskirts of Butmir and Donji Kotorac, and reach Hrasnica without touching the city motorway or the tram-line congestion of central Sarajevo. The terrain is flat valley floor for the whole run, with Mount Igman rising directly ahead as you approach. Because the distance is so small, traffic rarely adds much time, though the local streets in Hrasnica itself are narrow and lined with parked cars, so the final approach to a specific building can be slower than the open stretch before it.

Give the driver the building number and street name in advance, plus the entrance if it's a large apartment block — Hrasnica's residential streets look similar and many buildings share a courtyard with several stairwells. If your real destination is Igman or Veliko Polje rather than the town, say so when booking, because the mountain road above Hrasnica is a separate climb and adds time, especially with snow or ice in winter, when a suitable vehicle matters. Many arrivals here are combining the trip with the Tunnel of Hope museum in Donji Kotorac; it's only minutes away, so ask about a short stop on the way. There's little in the way of taxi ranks or airport shuttles serving Hrasnica directly, which is why a pre-booked door-to-door transfer is the simplest option.
