Private transfer from Rennes-Saint-Jacques Airport to Saint-Malo
Door-to-door transfer from Rennes-Saint-Jacques Airport to Saint-Malo with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.
What Saint-Malo is known for
Saint-Malo is a walled granite town on the Emerald Coast, and most visitors head straight for Intra-Muros, the old town enclosed by ramparts you can walk all the way around. From them you see Fort National, the Grand Bé island with Chateaubriand's tomb, and the long Plage du Sillon curving toward Paramé. Families come in summer for the tidal beaches and the sea-water pool at Bon-Secours; day-trippers arrive via the ferry terminal near Naye, which runs to Portsmouth, Jersey and Guernsey. The Bas-Sablons marina in Saint-Servan and the Solidor tower draw sailors and walkers year-round. Note the exceptional tides here: the sea retreats far at low water and comes in fast, which changes the whole seafront within hours.
The drive north on the N137
The route leaves Rennes-Saint-Jacques on the city's ring road and joins the N137, the dual carriageway that connects Rennes directly to Saint-Malo. It is fast, mostly flat farmland with occasional woodland, and the journey usually runs around an hour without traffic. You pass exits for Châteauneuf-d'Ille-et-Vilaine and Miniac-Morvan before the Rance estuary opens up on the approach. As you near Saint-Malo the road drops toward the coast and the town splits into distinct areas: Saint-Servan, Paramé, Rothéneuf and the walled Intra-Muros. If your destination is inside the walls, the last stretch is slow, with narrow one-way streets and limited vehicle access, so drop-offs are often made at the Porte Saint-Vincent or nearby car parks rather than at the door.
Practical tips for this transfer
If you are catching a Condor or Brittany Ferries sailing, allow extra buffer time: the ferry terminal at Gare Maritime de la Naye has fixed check-in cut-offs, and summer queues along the Sillon can slow the final approach. Travellers staying inside Intra-Muros should pack light or expect a short walk, since vehicles cannot reach most addresses within the walls. For golfers, the main course is the Saint-Malo Golf Resort at Le Tronchet, inland and roughly 20 minutes south of town, so confirm that address rather than the seafront. If you plan to explore Dinard, Cap Fréhel or the oyster beds at Cancale, arrange the transfer to your accommodation first, as these are separate destinations across the estuary or further along the coast.
