Private transfer from Rennes-Saint-Jacques Airport to Dinan
Door-to-door transfer from Rennes-Saint-Jacques Airport to Dinan with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.
What Dinan is known for
Dinan sits above the River Rance behind long stretches of medieval ramparts you can walk almost end to end. The steep, cobbled Rue du Jerzual drops from the old town down to the Port de Dinan, a small river harbour with restaurants along the quay and a stone viaduct overhead. In the centre you'll find the Château de Dinan keep, the Basilique Saint-Sauveur, the Tour de l'Horloge and rows of half-timbered houses around Place des Merciers. Day-trippers come year-round; the town fills in summer and every two years for the July Fête des Remparts, a large medieval festival. Walkers use the Rance towpath toward the Abbey of Léhon just south. It draws people wanting Brittany history without the crowds of nearby Saint-Malo.
The drive from Rennes-Saint-Jacques to Dinan
The airport sits on the southwest edge of Rennes, so the transfer first skirts the city on the ring road before heading north. The route follows the fast N137 corridor toward Saint-Malo, then branches northwest on the RN176/D794 toward Dinan and the Côtes-d'Armor. It's inland driving the whole way across gently rolling Breton farmland — dual carriageway for most of the distance, so the journey is smooth and steady rather than winding. Expect roughly an hour depending on Rennes traffic at the start. The final approach into Dinan narrows as you reach the old town, where streets around the ramparts are tight and partly pedestrianised. Drivers usually set down near the Château, the Jardin Anglais or at the top of the town rather than down at the river port.
Practical tips for this transfer
Give your driver a precise drop-off point. If your accommodation is inside the ramparts, vehicles can't reach many of the cobbled lanes, so being set down near Place Duguesclin, the Château or the Tour de l'Horloge and walking the last stretch is normal. If you're staying at the Port de Dinan by the river, note that it's a steep descent by the Rue du Jerzual — arrange the drop at the port level rather than dragging luggage down the hill. For onward travel, Dinan's train station has limited direct services, so a booked transfer is often more reliable than connecting via Rennes for late arrivals. Combining Dinan with Dinard or Saint-Malo works well, as both are a short drive north. Confirm your flight number so the driver can track delays.
