Private transfer from Pula Airport to Pula
Door-to-door transfer from Pula Airport to Pula with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.
What you'll find in Pula
Pula is built around its Roman amphitheatre, the Arena, which still hosts concerts and the summer film festival. From there the pedestrian streets climb to the Forum with the Temple of Augustus, the Arch of the Sergii and the hilltop Kaštel fortress. Cruise passengers and day-trippers fill the old town in summer, while families head south to the Verudela peninsula for the pebble coves at Ambrela and Havajsko (Hawaii) beach and the resort hotels there. The Marina Veruda draws sailors, and Fažana, just north, is the ferry point for the Brijuni islands. Off-season the town stays lived-in rather than shutting down, thanks to the shipyard and university. Nature-lovers continue to Cape Kamenjak on the Premantura peninsula for wild swimming spots.
The drive from the airport into Pula
Pula Airport sits inland near Valtura, roughly 6 km east of the city centre, so this is one of the shortest transfers in Istria — normally 12 to 15 minutes. The route runs on ordinary regional roads through farmland and the Šijana area rather than motorway, with roundabouts on the approach into town. It's flat and undemanding driving until you reach the built-up edge of Pula. The final stretch depends on your destination: the old town around the Arena has narrow one-way streets and limited vehicle access, so drop-offs are often at the nearest accessible point, while Verudela and Stoja are reached by heading through the city toward the coast. Traffic is light most of the year but tightens near the Arena during summer events.
Practical tips for this transfer
Because the drive is so short, book a private transfer mainly for the door-to-door convenience with luggage — public transport from this airport is sparse and buses don't run frequently. If you're staying in the old town, tell the driver your exact street and the nearest square, since much of the centre around the Forum is closed to cars and you may need a short walk with bags over cobbles. For the Verudela hotels, note the resort has several separate entrances, so give the specific hotel name. If you're heading straight to the Brijuni ferry, ask to be taken to Fažana rather than central Pula to save backtracking. In July and August, allow extra time if an Arena concert coincides with your arrival, as access roads nearby can be restricted.
