Door-to-door transfer from Pisa Galileo Galilei Airport to Cinque Terre with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.
The five villages and where cars can actually reach
Cinque Terre is five villages strung along the Ligurian coast: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore. Most are closed to outside traffic, with steep pedestrian lanes and stairways down to tiny harbours. Monterosso has the only real sandy beach and the easiest road access; Manarola and Riomaggiore are best reached via La Spezia. Hikers come in spring and autumn for the Sentiero Azzurro coastal path linking the villages; summer brings day-trippers and swimmers to Monterosso's Fegina beach. The villages fill by mid-morning, so arriving early or staying overnight makes a real difference. Corniglia sits on a clifftop with no harbour, reached by a long stairway or shuttle from its station.
Driving the A12 from Pisa to the coast
The route follows the A12 motorway north from Pisa, past Viareggio, Massa and Carrara, with the Apuan Alps visible inland. It is fast, mostly straight motorway for the first hour or so. You exit near La Spezia or Brugnato, and this is where the drive changes character: the road narrows and starts to climb and wind through hills before dropping toward the coast. La Spezia is the practical hub, and many drivers finish here at the train station, where a short local train reaches all five villages in minutes. If you continue to Monterosso by road, expect tight switchbacks on the final descent. Total driving time is roughly an hour and three quarters depending on your final drop-off.
Choosing your drop-off and handling luggage
Decide your drop-off before travelling, because it shapes the whole trip. La Spezia Centrale station is the most flexible choice: from there the Cinque Terre Express train links all five villages, and staff can help you buy the Cinque Terre Card. If you are staying in Monterosso, road access is possible right into town. For Vernazza, Manarola, Riomaggiore or Corniglia, a vehicle cannot reach your accommodation, so plan to cover the last stretch on foot or by train with your bags over cobbles and steps. Pack light and use a backpack rather than a wheeled case. Check whether your host offers luggage transport, as several do for a fee. Booking the pickup with a little buffer helps if your flight lands late.
