Private transfer from Paphos International Airport to Protaras
Door-to-door transfer from Paphos International Airport to Protaras with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.
What Protaras is known for
Protaras sits on Cyprus's far south-eastern tip, built around Fig Tree Bay, a shallow, family-friendly beach with fine sand and a small islet you can swim to. The resort strip runs along Protaras Avenue, lined with hotels, tavernas and the Ocean Aquarium, and the musical dancing fountains that run shows in summer. Families and couples come here for calm swimming and quieter evenings than Ayia Napa, a short drive west. Walkers head to Cape Greco National Forest Park and Konnos Bay for coastal paths and sea caves. The whitewashed Church of Profitis Ilias sits on a rocky hill above the town, reached by a long flight of steps. Nearby Pernera and Kapparis offer smaller beaches and self-catering apartments away from the main strip.
The cross-island drive from Paphos Airport
This is one of the longest transfers on the island: Protaras is at the opposite corner from Paphos. The route runs almost entirely on motorway, leaving the airport on the A6 that hugs the south coast past Limassol, then the A1 towards Larnaca, and finally the A3 heading east to the Paralimni and Ayia Napa area. Expect roughly two and a half hours of steady driving, with dry, open terrain and sea views on the Limassol stretch. There are no mountains on this coastal corridor, so the ride is smooth until the final approach, where you leave the motorway near Paralimni and cross local roads into the Protaras resort area. The last stretch through the strip can be slow in high summer as it fills with holiday traffic.
Planning this transfer well
Because it's a long haul, confirm your exact hotel or apartment address before travel — Protaras spreads across Protaras Avenue, Pernera, Kapparis and the streets behind the strip, and many complexes look alike. A driver who knows the local turn-offs saves time hunting for reception. For a two-and-a-half-hour ride, ask for a short comfort stop if you're travelling with children; the service area near Limassol on the A1 is a sensible break point. Bring water, especially on summer afternoons. If your flight lands late, note that the resort's outer streets are quiet after midnight, so having your accommodation entrance pinpointed matters. Many travellers combine arrival with a day trip to Cape Greco or Ayia Napa, so agree any extra stops with the driver in advance rather than on the day.
