Private transfer from Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport to Stintino
Door-to-door transfer from Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport to Stintino with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.
What Stintino is known for
Stintino sits on Sardinia's northwestern tip, a former tuna-fishing village built around two small harbours, Porto Vecchio and Porto Nuovo. The main draw is La Pelosa beach, with shallow turquoise water and the Aragonese watchtower on Isola Piana facing the island of Asinara National Park, reached by boat from the marina. Access to La Pelosa is capped in summer with a paid daily quota and online booking, so it fills early in July and August. Families come for the calm, waist-deep sea; hikers and day-trippers take ferries to Asinara to see its wild trails and former prison. Off-season the village is quiet, with seafood restaurants along the port and the Museo della Tonnara explaining the old tuna trade. Most visitors arrive between June and September.
The drive across northern Sardinia
This is a long crossing from the island's northeast to its northwest, roughly 185 km. The route follows the four-lane SS729 Olbia–Sassari corridor for most of the way, a fast inland road through rolling countryside, cork oaks and the hills around Ozieri. Near Sassari it links to the SS131 and then the provincial road out to the coast through Porto Torres and the flat farmland approaching the sea. The final stretch runs alongside the Golfo dell'Asinara before reaching the village. Expect around two and a half hours with light traffic; allow more in peak summer when the last kilometres toward Stintino and La Pelosa slow to a crawl. Most of the journey is comfortable motorway-standard driving, with the scenery shifting from interior hills to open coast only in the final leg.
Planning this transfer well
Because Stintino is one of the furthest points from Olbia airport, treat this as a genuine cross-island transfer and not a short hop. If your flight lands late, note that services and restaurants in the village close early outside high season, so arrange food or a supermarket stop in Sassari or Porto Torres on the way. Parking near La Pelosa is tightly regulated and paid in summer, which makes a door-to-door transfer more practical than a rental car for a beach-focused stay. If you plan to visit Asinara, book the ferry from Porto Torres or Stintino's marina in advance, as summer sailings sell out. Many hotels sit outside the compact centre toward Le Saline and the beach road, so give your driver the exact accommodation name and road, since the narrow village lanes can be hard to reach directly.
