Private transfer from Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport to Budoni
Door-to-door transfer from Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport to Budoni with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.
What Budoni is like when you arrive
Budoni sits on the eastern Gallura coast and is really a scatter of small settlements rather than one centre. The town proper is set slightly inland along the SS125, while the beaches and holiday homes spread across frazioni like Agrustos, Tanaunella, Ottiolu, Limpiddu and Berruiles. Families come mainly in July and August for shallow, sandy beaches such as Budoni's main lido, Sant'Anna and Li Cucutti, plus the marina at Porto Ottiolu with its restaurants and mooring berths. It's quieter and more residential than the Costa Smeralda to the north, so many visitors rent apartments or stay in campsites and small resorts. Outside summer it's largely a local town, with most beach facilities closed from October onward.
The drive south on the SS125
The route runs south from the airport, joining the SS125 Orientale Sarda that links Olbia with San Teodoro and Budoni. It's mostly straightforward two-lane road with some faster stretches, passing inland of the coast through low hills and cork-oak country rather than hugging the sea. You'll go by the San Teodoro turn-offs before reaching Budoni's own exits. The journey is short — roughly 40 kilometres and about 40 minutes with normal traffic. The main variable is summer congestion: in late July and August the SS125 and the local turn-offs to Porto Ottiolu, Agrustos and Tanaunella back up, especially on Saturday changeover days, and the final approach to individual beachfront residences can be on narrow, unsurfaced lanes.
Practical tips for this transfer
Because Budoni's accommodation is spread across many frazioni, give your exact address or resort name, not just "Budoni" — the difference between the town centre, Ottiolu and Tanaunella is several kilometres. Many holiday villas sit on lanes that aren't well signposted, so a pin location or the property manager's phone number helps the driver reach the door. Stock up on groceries in Budoni town or at supermarkets along the SS125, as the beach frazioni have limited shops. If you're arriving late in the season, confirm your accommodation is open, since much of the area shuts down. A private transfer is worth it here because bus and train links to the eastern coast from Olbia airport are sparse and slow.
