Private transfer from Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport to Baja Sardinia
Door-to-door transfer from Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport to Baja Sardinia with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.
What Baja Sardinia is known for
Baja Sardinia sits on the northern edge of the Costa Smeralda, north of Porto Cervo and close to Cannigione and Arzachena. Its centre is a compact pedestrian square ringed by bars, gelaterie and shops that fills up on summer evenings. The main beach, Cala Battistoni, is a short walk from the square, with Cala Bitta and the coves toward Poltu Quatu nearby. Families come for the shallow water and the Aquadream water park; boat trips to the La Maddalena archipelago leave from the coast here and from Cannigione. It's busiest from June to early September, quieter and largely shuttered in winter. Golfers usually head to Pevero Golf Club near Porto Cervo, a few minutes down the coast.
The drive from Olbia airport up the coast
The route leaves Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport and joins the SS125 heading north toward Arzachena. Much of this stretch is a fast, mostly straight main road through low inland scrubland and rolling hills, not coastline. After passing the Arzachena area you branch off toward the coast on smaller provincial roads (the SP59/SP94 corridor) that wind through granite outcrops and Mediterranean maquis as you descend toward the sea. The final approach into Baja Sardinia is slower, with bends and a resort layout where hotels and residences spread across several access lanes off the main road. Expect roughly 35 to 40 kilometres and about 40 to 45 minutes with light traffic; allow longer in July and August when Arzachena and the coast road back up.
Practical tips for this transfer
Baja Sardinia is a spread-out resort area rather than a single street address, so give your driver the exact hotel or residence name — places like Club Hotel or the properties around Cala Battistoni and Cala Bitta have separate entrances, and some are on steep private lanes. If you're renting a boat or catching an early La Maddalena excursion from Cannigione, factor in the extra few minutes north. A private transfer is worth it here because bus links from Olbia are limited and seasonal, and taxis are scarce late at night once the airport quietens. In peak summer, ask to be dropped near the pedestrian square if your accommodation is inside the closed-traffic zone, since vehicles can't reach every point in the centre.
