Private transfer from Naples International Airport to Alberobello
Door-to-door transfer from Naples International Airport to Alberobello with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.
Why people travel to Alberobello
Alberobello is known for its trulli, the conical dry-stone houses concentrated in the Rione Monti and Aia Piccola districts. Monti is the busier zone, its lanes lined with converted trulli selling ceramics and local wine, while Aia Piccola stays residential and quieter. The Trullo Sovrano, the only two-storey trullo, and the Sant'Antonio church built in trullo form are the main landmarks. Most visitors come for a day or an overnight, often as part of a wider Valle d'Itria trip taking in Locorotondo, Martina Franca and Ostuni. Spring and early autumn are the most comfortable; July and August are hot and crowded with coach groups. Many travellers now stay overnight in a restored trullo to see the town after the day-trippers leave.
The drive across Campania into Puglia
This is a long inland motorway journey, not a coastal one. From Naples airport the route joins the A16 Napoli–Canosa, climbing over the Apennines past Avellino before descending toward Puglia. It then follows the A14 south past Bari, leaving the motorway around Gioia del Colle or Monopoli depending on traffic, and finishing on regional roads through the Murgia plateau. Expect roughly three hours of driving. The mountain section in the middle is the most scenic, with long viaducts and tunnels. The final approach into Alberobello runs through olive groves and low stone walls, and the last stretch into town is on narrow streets where large vehicles cannot reach the trulli lanes directly.
Practical tips for this transfer
Because the trip crosses two regions and takes around three hours, agree on a pick-up time that avoids arriving mid-afternoon in high summer, when the town is at its hottest and most crowded. The historic centre is largely pedestrian, so your driver will drop you at the nearest accessible point, often near Largo Martellotta or Piazza del Popolo; the walk into Rione Monti is short but uphill and cobbled, so pack light or use a small case with sturdy wheels. If you plan to continue to Locorotondo, Ostuni or the coast, arrange it in advance, as taxis are scarce locally. Confirm whether your accommodation is a trullo in the old town, since street access there is restricted and the exact meeting point matters.
