The route heads west, joining the A709 and then the A9 motorway toward Béziers, before exiting toward Sète on the N300/D600 corridor. It's a fast, flat drive of roughly 35 kilometres and around 35 minutes in normal traffic, almost all of it on motorway and dual carriageway. The final approach brings you alongside the port and into the town, where streets narrow around the canals. If you're staying out on the Lido strip toward Marseillan, expect a slower coastal road pinched between the sea and the Étang de Thau. Summer weekends and market days add time near the centre.

Give your driver the exact area of Sète: the town centre around the Canal Royal, the port, the Corniche below Mont Saint-Clair, or the Lido campsites and hotels toward Marseillan-Plage, since these are several kilometres apart and take different final approaches. Parking near the canals is tight, so door-to-door drop-off saves circling. If you're arriving for the Fête de la Saint-Louis in late August, expect road closures and dense crowds in the centre — allow extra time and consider a drop-off point on the edge. Sète's train station connects onward to Montpellier and Béziers, useful to know if your onward plans change. The Thau lagoon oyster huts around Bouzigues and Mèze make an easy add-on if you ask the driver in advance.
