Private transfer from Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport to Valdevaqueros

Valdevaqueros is a wide, exposed beach on the Atlantic side of Tarifa, backed by its enormous shifting sand dune, the Duna de Valdevaqueros. It draws kitesurfers and windsurfers above almost anyone else, because the Levante and Poniente winds here are strong and reliable, especially from spring through early autumn. Camping Torre de la Peña, beach chiringuitos like Tumbao, and rental and school operators cluster along the shoreline. Families and day-trippers come in July and August for the shallow entry and space, though the wind can send sand flying on the strongest days. It sits within the Estrecho Natural Park, with views across to the Moroccan coast on clear afternoons. Nearby you have Punta Paloma, Bolonia and the Roman ruins of Baelo Claudia.

This is one of the longer runs from Málaga Airport, roughly 160 km and around two hours. You leave the airport on the A-7/AP-7 coastal corridor heading southwest, passing Marbella, Estepona and Sotogrande. Beyond Guadiaro the route joins the A-7/N-340, which carries you inland and over the hills behind Algeciras and the Bay of Gibraltar. The final stretch from Tarifa toward Punta Paloma runs along the N-340 with the Atlantic on one side and pine-covered slopes on the other. The last approach is a short turn-off from the main road down toward the beach and campsites. Much of the journey is motorway, but the section around Algeciras and the descent toward Tarifa is slower and can be windy, with gusts noticeable in the vehicle near the Strait.

Because Valdevaqueros is a beach zone rather than a street address, tell us exactly where you're staying — Camping Torre de la Peña, a specific chiringuito, a kitesurf school meeting point, or an apartment in Tarifa town if you're commuting to the beach. The unpaved access lanes near the dune can be sandy, so a clear drop-off point avoids confusion. Book with buffer time: this is a long run and the Algeciras section can slow with port and border traffic. If you're carrying board bags or kite equipment, let us know in advance so the vehicle has room. There's little in the way of shops right at the beach, so stock up in Tarifa before arriving. On strong Levante days, accept that sand and wind will be part of the experience.
