Private transfer from Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport to Tarifa
Door-to-door transfer from Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport to Tarifa with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.

What Tarifa is known for
Tarifa sits at the southernmost tip of mainland Europe, where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean and the wind almost never stops. That Levante and Poniente wind is exactly why kitesurfers and windsurfers fill the long sandy stretches of Los Lances, Valdevaqueros and Punta Paloma from spring through autumn. Bolonia, a few kilometres north, has the Roman ruins of Baelo Claudia beside its beach and a huge shifting dune. Inside the walled old town, narrow whitewashed lanes run from the Puerta de Jerez to the Castillo de Guzmán el Bueno. The port runs fast ferries to Tangier, and boat trips head into the Strait to watch dolphins, pilot whales and orcas. Expect a young, outdoorsy, international crowd rather than a package-resort scene.
The drive down the coast to the Strait
The route leaves the airport on the A-7/AP-7 and follows the coast southwest past Marbella, Estepona and Sotogrande. It's motorway almost the whole way, so the first hour or so is straightforward. Things change beyond Algeciras, where the road becomes the N-340 climbing over a pass with wide views of Gibraltar and, on clear days, the mountains of Morocco across the water. The final stretch into Tarifa runs alongside the windswept dunes and beaches you'll have seen in photos. The full journey is roughly 155 km and about two hours. The one thing passengers notice most is the wind picking up as you near the coast on that last section — it can be strong enough to feel in the vehicle.

Planning your arrival in Tarifa
If your accommodation is inside the walls, know that most of the old town is pedestrian or access-restricted, with tight lanes; drivers usually stop at the nearest edge, such as near the Alameda or the port, and you finish the last minutes on foot with luggage. Many kite and windsurf hotels and campsites lie strung out along the N-340 toward Valdevaqueros, so confirm the exact entrance and kilometre point in advance. If you're catching a Tangier ferry, allow buffer time and bring your passport, as it's an international crossing. The wind that makes Tarifa great also grounds boats and closes some water activities, so keep plans flexible. For Bolonia and Baelo Claudia, factor in an extra detour off the main road down a single access lane.
