Private transfer from Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport to Rute
Door-to-door transfer from Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport to Rute with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.

Why people travel to Rute
Rute sits in the Subbética hills of southern Córdoba province and is known across Spain for two things: anís liqueur and Christmas confectionery. Distilleries such as Anís Machaquito and Duende run tasting visits, and the Museo del Anís explains the copper stills still in use. From late October the town fills with visitors coming for the chocolate nativity scene (the Belén de chocolate) and the mantecado and turrón workshops, making winter its busiest season. There's also a quirky Museo del Azúcar and a small bear sanctuary. Nearby lies the Embalse de Iznájar, Andalusia's largest reservoir, popular in summer for swimming and kayaking. Most travellers are day-trippers, foodies, and families combining Rute with the white towns of the Subbética.
The drive inland from the coast
The route leaves the coast entirely and heads north into the interior. From the airport you join the A-7 and then the A-45 motorway toward Antequera, climbing away from the sea through the pass near Villanueva de la Concepción. Beyond Antequera the A-45 continues toward Córdoba across open farmland and olive country, before you exit near Lucena onto the A-331, which runs to Rute. It's roughly 105 km and around an hour and a half, dual carriageway for most of the way. The final stretch is a two-lane road through olive groves and low hills, with a short climb into the town itself, where the streets tighten. Expect a clear change of scenery: from coastal resort to inland Andalusian countryside dominated by olive trees.

Practical tips for this transfer
Rute has no train station and only limited bus links via Lucena, so a direct transfer avoids a slow connection. If you're coming for the Christmas displays, book early: weekends from late November are extremely busy and the town's small centre gets congested, so ask the driver about the drop-off point near the Belén rather than pushing into the narrow old streets. Distillery visits usually need booking ahead, and many close on Sunday afternoons. Bring cash for small shops selling anís and sweets. If you plan to combine Rute with Iznájar reservoir or Priego de Córdoba, mention it in advance so the route can be planned. Summer afternoons here are hot and inland—much warmer than the coast—so carry water for the drive.
