Private transfer from Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport to Puente Genil
Door-to-door transfer from Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport to Puente Genil with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.

What Puente Genil is known for
Puente Genil sits on the Genil river in the south of Córdoba province, on the edge of the campiña farmland. It's known nationally for its quince paste (carne de membrillo) and for one of the most distinctive Holy Week traditions in Andalusia, built around the local brotherhoods known as corporaciones bíblicas. Visitors also come for the Villa Romana de Fuente Álamo, a Roman site with well-preserved mosaics on the outskirts of town. Most travellers here are visiting family, arriving for Semana Santa in spring, or passing through on business linked to the olive-oil and food industries. The old centre has narrow streets and the historic bridge over the river; away from festival week it's a working town rather than a tourist resort.
The drive north on the A-45
The route leaves the coast almost immediately and heads inland, so don't expect sea views. From the airport you join the A-45 motorway north towards Córdoba, climbing over the hills behind Málaga and past Antequera. The landscape opens into rolling olive groves and cereal fields typical of the Córdoba campiña. It's dual carriageway for nearly the whole way, so the journey is smooth and predictable, usually around 90 minutes. Near Aguilar de la Frontera you leave the motorway onto local roads for the final stretch into Puente Genil. The approach into town involves ordinary streets rather than winding mountain roads, though the older central area is tight and one-way in places, so a driver may drop you slightly short of a doorstep in the historic core.
Practical tips for this transfer
There is a high-speed AVE station, Puente Genil-Herrera, on the Córdoba–Málaga line, but it sits several kilometres outside town and trains don't stop there frequently, so a direct road transfer is often simpler than combining train and taxi. If you're arriving for Semana Santa, book well ahead and confirm your drop-off point: several central streets are closed to traffic during processions, and your driver may need an alternative address nearby. Give the exact street name and number when booking, as the town has repeated street names in different neighbourhoods. For the Villa Romana de Fuente Álamo, check opening hours in advance, as it operates on limited schedules. There are no motorway services right at Puente Genil, so use the stops near Antequera if you need a break.
