From the airport the driver takes the MA-20 ronda that skirts the western and northern edge of the city, then heads out onto the eastern seafront corridor towards El Palo. It's a short trip — usually around 25 minutes with light traffic — almost entirely on dual carriageway until the final stretch. The last part leaves the fast road and drops into the neighbourhood's grid of narrow one-way streets, which are tight and often lined with parked cars. Traffic can slow noticeably at rush hour and on summer weekends, when the seafront is busy. There are no motorway tolls on this route; it's all city ring road and urban avenues.

Give your driver the exact street and number rather than just "Pedregalejo", since the beachfront is long and the parallel streets are one-way; a chiringuito or landmark name helps for the final turns. The seafront paseo itself is largely pedestrianised, so drop-off is on the streets behind it, and you may walk the last stretch with luggage. If you're arriving for the summer espeto season, note that evening traffic along the eastern seafront builds up, so allow extra time for onward plans. Pedregalejo has few large hotels — most visitors stay in apartments — so confirm key collection or check-in arrangements before you land. For a return to the airport, book with a margin at weekends, as leaving the neighbourhood and rejoining the ronda can be slow when the beach bars are full.
