Many visitors are here for the golf, for villa and apartment rentals in urbanisations like Aloha and La Campana, or because it puts Puerto Banús marina within a short walk or taxi ride. Families tend to prefer it over Banús itself for the calmer streets and residential feel.

The route runs almost entirely on motorway heading southwest along the coast. From the airport you join the A-7/AP-7 and pass Torremolinos, Fuengirola and Calahonda before reaching the Marbella area. Most drivers use the toll AP-7 to skip the slower coastal A-7 through the towns, especially in summer. The final approach leaves the motorway around the San Pedro or Puerto Banús exits, then climbs gently inland into the residential streets and urbanisations. Expect roughly 50 minutes to an hour in normal traffic, longer on summer weekends and during the evening rush near Marbella. The terrain is coastal and flat for most of the way, with the Sierra Blanca and La Concha mountain rising behind Marbella as you approach.

Nueva Andalucía is spread across several urbanisations rather than a single centre, so give your driver the exact urbanisation name (Aloha, La Campana, Nueva Andalucía Pueblo) plus block and street, not just "Nueva Andalucía." Many gated complexes have controlled entrances and internal roads that look alike, so a gate code or contact number for reception helps. If you're going straight to a golf course, name the club, as Aloha and Los Naranjos have separate access points. The Saturday market fills the streets near the bullring in the morning, which can slow drop-offs there. Traffic around Puerto Banús is heavy on summer nights, so allow extra time for departures. Bring cash or card for the AP-7 toll if your driver takes it, though most transfers include this.
