The final approach leaves the Ronda road for the MA-8403, a narrow local road that drops toward Benaoján before the short climb into Montejaque itself. Expect around an hour and three-quarters. The last few kilometres are winding and the village streets are tight and steep, so most transfers stop at the entrance to the old town rather than trying to reach a specific door deep inside it.

Because Montejaque's centre is a maze of narrow, steep lanes, tell your driver the name of your accommodation and its nearest square or street entrance in advance; some guesthouses ask guests to meet at the village car park near the entrance and carry luggage the last stretch on foot. There are no large supermarkets in the village, so if you arrive late, buy essentials at Ronda or Benaoján on the way.
