Because the distance is significant, confirm your pickup time allows for coastal traffic, especially on summer weekends and around the Semana Santa and Feria del Caballo periods when the A-7 fills up. If your trip coincides with a MotoGP or race weekend at the Circuito de Jerez, book well ahead and expect road restrictions near the circuit entrances. Jerez has its own airport (XRY) with limited flights, so Málaga is often the practical arrival point for international travellers; a private car avoids the long train and bus connections via Cádiz or Seville.
