Private transfer from Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport to Mojácar

Mojácar splits into two very different parts. Mojácar Pueblo is the white hilltop village of steep, narrow lanes around Plaza Nueva and the church of Santa María, with the Indalo figure painted everywhere and the Fuente lower down the slope. Mojácar Playa is a long coastal strip of hotels and apartments running past Playa del Cantal and the Ventanicas beaches, with the Marina de la Torre area at the northern end. Families and summer regulars fill the beach; the pueblo draws day-trippers year-round for its views and restaurants. Garrucha, the working fishing port a few minutes north, is where locals go for red prawns, and Vera and the Cabo de Gata reserve are within easy reach for longer outings.

The whole drive follows the A-7 Autovía del Mediterráneo eastward, so it is fast motorway for almost the entire route. After leaving the airport you skirt the Costa Tropical past Motril, cut through the tunnels and inland stretches of the Granada–Almería section, and pass Almería city before continuing towards Vera. The exit for Mojácar leaves the motorway onto local roads that run down to the coast. If you are staying on Mojácar Playa the final approach is flat and straightforward along the seafront. If your accommodation is up in Mojácar Pueblo, expect a short, tight climb with hairpin bends and very narrow one-way streets near the top, where large vehicles cannot always reach the door. The trip runs around two and a half hours without stops.

This is one of the longer runs from Málaga airport, so treat it as a two-and-a-half-hour drive and add buffer if you have an onward booking. Tell us clearly whether your address is in Mojácar Pueblo or on the Playa, because the two are several kilometres apart and easily confused. For the pueblo, note the exact street and any nearest square, since the top lanes are pedestrian or barely wide enough for a car; the driver may need to drop you at a set point and you finish on foot. The beach strip has a single long road with many similar apartment blocks, so give the building name and number. There are no motorway services immediately before Mojácar, so ask for a stop near Almería if you need one.
