The route leaves Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport on the westbound coastal motorway, joining the A-7 and then the AP-7 toll road past Torremolinos, Fuengirola and Calahonda. It is almost entirely dual carriageway, so the run is smooth and predictable, typically around 45 minutes outside peak times. The turn-off for Marbesa comes near Cabopino, after which you leave the motorway and drop toward the coast on smaller residential roads. That final stretch is the only fiddly part: the urbanisation is a grid of narrow numbered streets with speed bumps and few obvious signs, so drivers rely on the exact street name and house number rather than a general area name. Traffic on the A-7 through Fuengirola and Calahonda can slow noticeably on summer afternoons.

Because Marbesa villas sit on numbered streets with no reception desk, send the full address, plot or villa name, and ideally a pin location before arrival — this saves time on the final approach where GPS can be vague. If you are renting a private villa, confirm key-collection arrangements in advance, as many are managed remotely and there is no central check-in. There are small supermarkets and beach chiringuitos near Artola and Cabopino, but for a large shop it is worth stopping en route or heading to the commercial areas around Elviria. Note the AP-7 is a toll road; the free A-7 alternative is slower and more congested in summer. If you plan evenings in Marbella centre or Puerto Banús, factor in that Marbesa is quiet at night with limited taxis, so pre-book return transport.
