Las Chapas is a low-rise residential district on the eastern side of Marbella, next to Elviria and a short hop from the Cabopino marina and the Artola dunes natural monument. It draws families and long-stay visitors who want beach access without the density of Marbella centre, plus golfers heading for Santa María Golf, Marbella Golf & Country Club and Greenlife nearby. The sandy beaches at Real de Zaragoza and El Alicate are wide and gently shelving, popular through summer, while the beach clubs around the Don Carlos hotel bring an evening crowd. Much of the area is villas and gated urbanisations spread across the hillside between the A-7 and the sea, so addresses can be spread out.

The route runs almost entirely on the A-7 Autovía del Mediterráneo, heading southwest past Torremolinos, Fuengirola and Calahonda. It is dual carriageway most of the way, with the sea on your left and the Sierra Blanca foothills inland. You can also take the AP-7 toll motorway to skip the busiest stretches around Fuengirola. Expect around 45 minutes in normal traffic, longer in July and August or on Friday evenings. The final approach leaves the motorway at the Elviria/Las Chapas exits, then drops onto narrower local roads and climbing side streets into the urbanisations. Because the district is spread over the slope, the last few minutes are slower than the motorway suggests.

Give the exact urbanisation name and villa or block number when you book, not just "Las Chapas" — the district covers many separate gated complexes, and several share similar street names. If you are staying in a gated community, ask whether the barrier needs a code or a call to reception, and share it in advance so the driver isn't left waiting at the gate. There is no local train; the Cercanías line ends at Fuengirola, so a car transfer is the practical door-to-door option. For golf trips, confirm your clubs fit the booked vehicle. If you land during summer weekends, allow extra time, and note that many nearby shops and beach clusters are toward Elviria and Cabopino rather than in Las Chapas itself.
