Private transfer from Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport to Lanjarón
Door-to-door transfer from Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport to Lanjarón with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.

What Lanjarón is known for
Lanjarón sits on the southern slope of the Sierra Nevada, at the western edge of the Alpujarras in Granada province. It is best known for its mineral water — the Aguas de Lanjarón bottling plant is here — and for its balneario, a spa fed by natural springs where visitors take thermal treatments, usually from spring into autumn. The single main street runs along the hillside past the spa, and a short walk below the town leads to the ruined Moorish castle overlooking the Lecrín valley. Many travellers use Lanjarón as a base before continuing into the higher Alpujarra villages — Órgiva, Pampaneira, Bubión and Capileira in the Poqueira gorge. In late June the Fiesta del Agua y del Jamón fills the streets with a night-time water fight around San Juan.
The drive from the airport into the Alpujarras
The route leaves Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport on the A-7 coastal motorway heading east, passing Nerja and Almuñécar. Near Motril the road joins the A-44 and turns inland, climbing north through the Guadalfeo valley past Vélez de Benaudalla and the Rules reservoir. You then leave the dual carriageway for the A-348, a slower single-lane road that winds east through Órgiva before the final climb up to Lanjarón. Expect most of the journey to be fast motorway, then a noticeably twistier last stretch as the road gains altitude into the mountains. The whole trip runs about two hours depending on traffic through the coastal towns, which are busiest in July and August.
Practical tips for this transfer
Lanjarón's main street is narrow and often busy near the balneario, so confirm the exact address of your hotel or apartment — some are only reachable on foot up side alleys, and the driver may drop you at the nearest accessible point. If you plan to continue to the higher Alpujarra villages, a private transfer is genuinely useful because public buses are infrequent. Bring layers: even in summer the mountain evenings are cooler than the coast. The last shops and larger supermarkets are down in Órgiva, so stock up there if you need anything before heading up. Winter visitors should note the road is fine to Lanjarón itself, but routes higher into Sierra Nevada can see snow, so check conditions before booking onward travel.
