Private transfer from Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport to La Chullera
Door-to-door transfer from Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport to La Chullera with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.
Where La Chullera sits on the western Costa del Sol
La Chullera is a low-key stretch of coast in the Manilva municipality, right at the western edge of Málaga province where it meets Cádiz. The point of Punta de la Chullera marks that border, and the beaches here are quieter and more rocky-cove than the big resort strips further east. Visitors are mostly residents of the villa developments on the hillside, day-trippers heading to the beach chiringuitos, and golfers using nearby Sotogrande, La Duquesa and San Roque courses. It's a short drive to Puerto de la Duquesa marina and the whitewashed village of Manilva with its vineyards. Casares, the hilltop pueblo blanco, sits inland. The season peaks in summer, but the golf and residential traffic keeps it busy through spring and autumn too.
The AP-7 drive west from the airport
The route runs almost entirely along the coastal motorway heading southwest from the airport. You'll take the A-7 past Torremolinos, Fuengirola and Marbella, and most drivers switch to the AP-7 toll road around Marbella to avoid the slow, traffic-light-heavy stretch through San Pedro and Estepona in summer. Expect roughly an hour and twenty minutes in normal conditions, longer on July and August afternoons. The landscape stays coastal with the sea on your left and the Sierra Bermeja hills inland. After passing Estepona and the Sotogrande turn-offs, the final approach to La Chullera leaves the motorway and drops down towards the shore on narrower local roads, some of them steep where the villa developments climb the hillside above the beach.
Practical tips for arriving at La Chullera
La Chullera isn't a single street address — it's spread across beachfront chiringuitos and hillside urbanisations, so give your driver the exact villa name, urbanisation and street rather than just "La Chullera." The local access roads are narrow and some parking is limited near the beach, so being dropped at the door saves circling. If you're heading to Sotogrande or Puerto de la Duquesa afterwards, both are only a few minutes away and worth combining. The AP-7 toll is worth taking in peak season; the free A-7 through Estepona centre can add half an hour. There are supermarkets in Manilva and Sabinillas for late arrivals, but the beach bars close earlier out of season, so plan evening meals if you're travelling in winter.
