Expect around an hour and a half, mostly on good open roads with the final section on quieter two-lane roads winding between hills and farmland. The scenery shifts from industrial outskirts to reservoirs, rock faces and cultivated valleys. There is no motorway right to the door, so the last few kilometres and the village streets themselves are slower and narrow.

Because Cuevas del Becerro is inland and small, mobile coverage can drop on the mountain sections, so save your exact address or pin offline and share it before departure — house numbers on the sloping streets are not always easy to find. If your plan includes the Caminito del Rey, note the gorge sits along the same A-357/Ardales corridor you pass through, so a stop or a same-day walk is feasible with advance booking of the walkway tickets. Local shops and restaurants keep small-town hours and may close in the afternoon, so arrange arrival food if you land late. Winters here are noticeably cooler and wetter than the coast, and roads can be misty in the hills, so allow a little extra time. A vehicle with room for hiking gear or bicycles is worth requesting.
