Club la Costa World sits on the Mijas Costa, between Fuengirola and La Cala de Mijas, a short drive inland from the beach. It's a large holiday resort built around several accommodation blocks, outdoor and indoor pools, restaurants and sports courts, so most guests arrive as families or couples on package or timeshare-style stays. Peak season runs from June to September, when the pools and kids' activities are busiest, but the mild winters also draw longer-stay northern European visitors. From the resort you're close to Fuengirola's seafront and marina, the beaches at La Cala de Mijas, and the whitewashed hillside village of Mijas Pueblo. Many guests hire a car or use transfers for day trips, as the complex is set slightly back from the main coastal towns.

The route runs almost entirely on fast dual carriageway. Leaving Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport you join the A-7 (or the AP-7 toll motorway) heading southwest along the coast, passing Torremolinos and Benalmádena before reaching the Fuengirola–Mijas area. The road is coastal but set back from the shore, with sea views opening up on the left and the Sierra de Mijas rising on the right. Traffic is the main variable: in July and August, and on Friday evenings, the stretch around Torremolinos and Fuengirola can slow considerably. The final approach leaves the main road for the resort's access roads, which climb slightly inland. The complex has more than one entrance, so it helps to know which accommodation block you're booked into before you arrive.

Club la Costa World spreads across a wide site with several reception points and accommodation names (guests are often assigned to specific blocks), so bring your booking confirmation with the exact block or building name. Sharing this with your driver in advance avoids being dropped at the wrong gate, which can mean a long walk with luggage. The resort is not within easy walking distance of Fuengirola's centre or the beach, so plan how you'll get around: taxis, the local bus, or a rental car. If you're arriving on a summer weekend, allow extra time for the airport-to-Fuengirola stretch. For late flights, a private transfer is more reliable than public transport, as train and bus connections to this part of the Mijas Costa thin out at night.
