Private transfer from Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport to Casares
Door-to-door transfer from Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport to Casares with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.
What you'll find in Casares
Casares splits into two very different worlds. The historic pueblo sits high inland, a cluster of white houses climbing towards the ruined Moorish castle and the church of San Sebastián, with the Plaza de España at its centre and the birthplace of Blas Infante marked in the old town. Streets here are steep and narrow, best explored on foot. Down towards the coast, Casares Costa is a golf and residential zone: Finca Cortesín, Doña Julia and Casares Costa Golf draw players, especially spring and autumn. Day-trippers come for the village views and the walk up to the Lara viewpoint, while golfers and second-home owners stay near the coast. The two areas are several kilometres apart, so knowing which one you need matters.
The drive from the airport to Casares
From Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport the route runs southwest along the coast, joining the AP-7 toll motorway or the parallel A-7 past Marbella, Estepona and the San Roque direction. Most of the roughly 95-kilometre journey is fast dual carriageway with sea views on the left. For Casares Costa and the golf resorts you leave the motorway near Estepona and reach them quickly. For the historic village you turn inland onto the MA-8300, a climbing, curving road through hills that tightens as it nears the pueblo. Expect around 80 minutes in normal traffic, longer in summer when the coastal stretch around Marbella and Estepona backs up. The final approach to the old town is genuinely winding, so passengers prone to motion sickness should sit in front.
Practical tips for this transfer
Tell the driver clearly whether you're going to the hilltop pueblo or to the coastal side (Casares Costa, Doña Julia, Finca Cortesín), because they're a real distance apart and the roads differ. In the old town, vehicles cannot reach every doorstep; the drop-off is usually near the entrance to the village or by the main car park, and you'll walk the steep streets to your accommodation, so pack light or bring a wheeled case you can lift over cobbles. Golf-resort entrances often need a gate name or building number, so have your booking details ready. If you're day-tripping, arrange a return pick-up in advance, as taxis do not wait in the village. Summer traffic on the coast can add half an hour, so allow margin for flights.
