Private transfer from Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport to Casarabonela
Door-to-door transfer from Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport to Casarabonela with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.

What Casarabonela is like
Casarabonela is a white village on the southern edge of the Sierra de las Nieves, set on a slope above the Guadalhorce valley. Its streets climb steeply below the ruins of the Moorish Hisn Auta castle, and the Ermita de la Cruz del Puerto sits on the hill above town with wide views over the olive and citrus country. People come here to walk the sierra trails, visit the botanical cactus garden (Jardín Mundo Nuevo), and see the Fiesta de los Rondeles in December, when residents carry burning esparto torches through the old streets. It stays quiet most of the year, drawing hikers, day-trippers from the coast, and residents of the inland villages rather than beach crowds. Neighbouring Álora, Carratraca and Pizarra are all within easy reach.
The drive inland from the airport
The route leaves the airport and joins the A-357, the fast dual carriageway that runs up the Guadalhorce valley towards Cártama, Ardales and the Serranía. This is smooth, open road for most of the trip, passing farmland and the low hills of the valley rather than the coast. After roughly 40 kilometres you leave the main road and take the MA-5401 that climbs the last stretch into Casarabonela. This final approach is noticeably narrower and winding as it gains height towards the village, and the entrance into the old quarter is a tangle of steep, tight streets. The whole journey usually takes just under an hour. It is an inland mountain drive, not a coastal one, so expect the scenery to shift from motorway to olive terraces quite quickly.

Practical tips for this route
The old town's streets are too steep and narrow for a car to reach every door, so agree a drop-off point with your driver in advance — the area near the main square or the village entrance is usually the practical limit for a vehicle. Bring your accommodation's exact location and a phone contact, as signage inside the village is limited. There is little in the way of shops or fuel once you leave the A-357, so handle any stops in Cártama or Pizarra rather than expecting them in Casarabonela. If you are visiting for the Rondeles festival in December or hiking the Sierra de las Nieves in spring, book the return transfer ahead, since local taxis are scarce and public transport to the coast is infrequent.
