A direct private car is far simpler than the alternative, which usually means a train or bus to Ciudad Real followed by a taxi out to the village, since public transport to Caracuel de Calatrava itself is very limited. Give your driver the exact street address and, if possible, a phone contact in the village, as satellite navigation can be vague in small Campo de Calatrava settlements and some final lanes are narrow. Bring water and a comfortable layer for the long stretch, and if you want a stop, Córdoba is the natural midway point for a coffee or a quick meal.
