Private transfer from Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport to Caleta de Vélez
Door-to-door transfer from Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport to Caleta de Vélez with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.

What Caleta de Vélez is known for
Caleta de Vélez sits on the Axarquía coast within the Vélez-Málaga municipality, built around one of the largest working fishing harbours on the eastern Costa del Sol. The port mixes trawlers unloading their catch with a leisure marina and a row of chiringuitos where espetos de sardinas are grilled over driftwood fires. Playa de Caleta and the neighbouring beaches draw Spanish families in July and August, while Baviera Golf, just inland, brings golfers through much of the year. Torre del Mar and its long promenade are a short drive west, and the historic town of Vélez-Málaga, capital of the avocado-and-mango-growing Axarquía, is a few minutes uphill. It's a quieter, more local base than the western resorts, popular with residents and returning holidaymakers.
The drive east on the A-7
The route runs east from the airport, joining the A-7 coastal motorway and skirting Málaga city, usually via the ring road to avoid the centre. From there it's a steady dual-carriageway run past Rincón de la Victoria and Torre de Benagalbón, with the sea on one side and the Axarquía hills rising inland. The road passes through several tunnels on this stretch. You leave the motorway near Torre del Mar and follow the coastal road the last few minutes into Caleta de Vélez and the port. Most of the journey is fast, open motorway, so it's a predictable trip of roughly 40 minutes in normal traffic. The main variable is Málaga's ring road at rush hour, which can add time in the early morning and late afternoon.

Practical tips for this transfer
Tell the driver whether you're heading to the port and marina, to Baviera Golf, or to an apartment block along the seafront, as they use different access points and the frontline streets can be one-way. If you're carrying golf clubs for Baviera, mention it when booking so the right vehicle is sent. Supermarkets and the covered market are in Torre del Mar rather than Caleta itself, so an early-arrival stop there is worth requesting. The port's fish restaurants fill up at Spanish dining times, especially summer weekends, so book ahead if you plan to eat on arrival night. For day trips into the Axarquía villages like Cómpeta or Frigiliana, a return transfer is more practical than local buses, which are infrequent.
