Private transfer from Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport to Arenas Malaga
Door-to-door transfer from Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport to Arenas Malaga with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.

Arenas and the Axarquía hills
Arenas is a small white village in the Axarquía, inland from Vélez-Málaga and Torre del Mar, surrounded by terraces of olives, almonds and moscatel vines. Above the village stand the ruins of Castillo de Bentomiz, a hilltop fortress with wide views over the valley toward the coast. It's a quiet place, popular with people renting rural houses (cortijos), hikers walking the tracks between hamlets like Daimalos and Corumbela, and travellers touring the sweet-wine and raisin country. There are no beach crowds here — visitors come for the walking, the local ventas serving country cooking, and the slow pace. Spring and autumn are the busiest times, when the hills are green and the walking weather is comfortable rather than hot.
The drive from the airport to Arenas
From Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport the route runs east on the A-7 motorway, skirting Málaga city and Rincón de la Victoria before reaching the Vélez-Málaga and Torre del Mar exits. This first stretch is fast, dual-carriageway driving along the coast. After leaving the motorway you head inland through the Vélez valley, and the final part climbs on winding regional roads into the Axarquía hills toward Arenas. The last section is noticeably slower — narrow, bending lanes with steep drops and blind corners, then tight village streets at the top. Expect around 55 minutes in total, with most of the time on the motorway and the final fifteen minutes on the mountain road.
Practical tips for this transfer
Arenas has narrow streets and steep gradients, so give your driver the exact name of your accommodation and, if it's a rural house outside the village, a pin location — many cortijos sit on unnamed tracks that don't appear clearly on standard maps. Ask to be dropped at the nearest accessible point if your lodging is up a footpath. There's little in the way of large supermarkets nearby, so if you're self-catering it's worth stopping in Vélez-Málaga or Torre del Mar on the way up to stock up; a driver can usually accommodate a short supermarket stop if arranged in advance. A car is essentially essential here, as public transport into the hill villages is limited and infrequent.
