Private transfer from Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport to Almedinilla
Door-to-door transfer from Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport to Almedinilla with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.

What Almedinilla is known for
Almedinilla sits in the Subbética hills of southern Córdoba province, on the river Caicena, with olive groves climbing the slopes on every side. Its main draw is Roman: the Villa Romana de El Ruedo, whose finds include the celebrated bronze statue of Somnus, are displayed in the town's Museo Histórico Ecomuseo del Río Caicena. The same museum runs its well-known cenas romanas, Roman-style banquets that fill up quickly. Above the town lies the Iberian settlement of Cerro de la Cruz. Visitors are mostly history-minded day-trippers, walkers heading into the Sierras Subbéticas and people touring the region's olive-oil villages. Priego de Córdoba, with its baroque churches and the Fuente del Rey, is a short drive away. Spring and autumn are the comfortable seasons; summer inland can be hot.
The drive inland from the coast
This is an inland run, not a coastal one. From Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport the route joins the A-7 and then the A-45 motorway heading north, climbing over the Puerto de las Pedrizas pass towards Antequera. The motorway carries you most of the way, past Antequera and on towards Lucena. The character changes once you leave the dual carriageway: the final stretch through the Subbética towards Priego de Córdoba and Almedinilla is on narrower regional roads that wind between olive terraces and low hills. Expect roughly two hours depending on traffic around Málaga and the pass. It's a scenic but curving last section, so passengers prone to travel sickness should sit forward and keep water handy. The approach into Almedinilla itself drops down towards the river valley.
Planning your transfer to Almedinilla
Almedinilla is a small town, so give the driver the specific street or the name of your rural house or apartment rather than just the town; several accommodations here are cortijos and casas rurales set outside the centre on tracks that satellite navigation reads imperfectly. The old core has narrow, sloping streets where a car may need to drop you at the nearest accessible point. Fuel and larger supermarkets are easier in Priego de Córdoba, so consider a brief stop there on the way in if you're self-catering. If your plan includes a Roman banquet at the museum, book it well ahead and coordinate your arrival time. For the return, allow generously for the winding section before the A-45 and the possibility of slow traffic entering Málaga near the airport.
