Private transfer from Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport to Alfacar
Door-to-door transfer from Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport to Alfacar with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.

What Alfacar is known for
Alfacar is a small town in the province of Granada, sitting on the lower slopes of the Sierra de Huétor about 10 km northeast of the city. It is best known for its bread: pan de Alfacar carries protected geographical status, and traditional wood-fired bakeries still supply Granada's markets. Just above the town, on the road toward Víznar, is the Parque Federico García Lorca, marking the area where the poet was killed in 1936, near the Fuente Grande spring (Ainadamar). Visitors are mostly day-trippers from Granada, walkers heading into the Sierra de Huétor natural park, and people tracing the Lorca history. It stays quiet and residential, with narrow streets around the church and views back over the Vega de Granada.
The drive from Málaga Airport to Alfacar
The route leaves the airport on the MA-20 and A-7, then joins the A-45 motorway climbing inland toward Antequera. From there you take the A-92 east, a fast dual carriageway that crosses open countryside and the hills before Granada, passing Loja and the Vega de Granada. Total driving is roughly 140 km and around an hour and three-quarters. The great majority is motorway. The change comes at the end: after skirting Granada you turn north on smaller roads through Víznar or Peligros toward Alfacar, where the approach becomes a winding climb into the sierra. The final stretch into the town has narrow, sloping streets, so drivers often stop at an accessible point rather than at the exact door.

Practical tips for this transfer
Alfacar sits higher than Granada, so winter mornings can be cold and occasionally icy on the final climb; pack warmer layers than you would for the coast. If your real destination is the Sierra de Huétor for walking, tell the driver in advance, as several trailheads and the Fuente Grande area are above the town and not obvious from the main road. Give a clear reference point in the old town—the church, a plaza or a specific bakery—because sat-nav struggles with the narrow streets. Local bakeries sell fresh pan de Alfacar in the morning and often sell out early. There is no direct rail link, and buses run to Granada rather than Málaga, so a booked transfer avoids changing in the city with luggage.
