Private transfer from Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport to Alcaidesa
Door-to-door transfer from Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport to Alcaidesa with professional driver, fixed price and flight monitoring included.
What Alcaidesa is known for
Alcaidesa is a hillside residential and golf development in the municipality of San Roque, right on the border with La Línea de la Concepción and within sight of Gibraltar and, on clear days, the Moroccan coast. Golfers are the main visitors: the Alcaidesa Links Golf Resort has two 18-hole courses, the seaside Links and the higher Heathland, both looking out over the Strait. Below the housing terraces lies a long, open beach that runs towards Torrenueva and Playa de Levante. Sotogrande and its marina sit a few minutes north, and Gibraltar's airport and town are a short drive south. It draws long-stay residents, golf groups in spring and autumn, and families renting apartments in summer rather than day-trippers.
The drive down the coast from Málaga
The route leaves the airport on the A-7 and joins the AP-7 toll motorway, which carries you the length of the western Costa del Sol. You pass Marbella, San Pedro de Alcántara, Estepona and Manilva before reaching the San Roque and Sotogrande exits. It is motorway almost the whole way, with the mountains of the Sierra Bermeja inland and the sea appearing intermittently to your left. The final stretch leaves the fast road and climbs into the Alcaidesa development itself, where the streets rise in terraces and split toward the golf clubhouse, the beach side and the upper residential blocks. Expect roughly 90 minutes without heavy traffic; summer weekends and the stretch around Marbella can add time.
Practical tips for this transfer
Alcaidesa spans a large slope with numbered urbanisation blocks and several separate entrances, so give your exact building name or the golf clubhouse as a reference rather than just "Alcaidesa" — GPS often stops at the main gate. If you are staying near the border, remember Gibraltar is only minutes away, but crossing on foot for the day can mean long queues; plan flights accordingly. The AP-7 involves tolls, which is the faster option; the free A-7 coastal road is slower and winding through town centres. Supermarkets and restaurants cluster around the marina at La Línea and in Sotogrande rather than inside the development, so a stop on arrival is worth arranging if you land late. Confirm whether your accommodation is on the beach side or the higher golf side.
